Today's microwave ovens are smarter in every sense of the word, and they're likely to hold more, cook faster, and cost less than the ovens that were available a few years back. Some of the latest models have colors and curves that put the utilitarian wood-grained boxes of old to shame. Stainless steel, silver-toned stainless look-alikes, bisque, even hues like blue and green are new alternatives to black and white, still the most sought-after choices. Contoured windows and doors, some with stainless trim, add a refined look in step with today's stylish kitchens. On a few models, controls are hidden inside the door, giving the exterior clean, smooth lines.
