Brazil has an active community of musicians committed to historically informed performance of early music, using period instruments and period techniques. This is particularly true in the culturally dominant centers of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, but early music is flourishing elsewhere as well, though somewhat limited by the difficulties of importing instruments and scores from outside the country.
