A transgendered student at Northeastern University MA has gone public with an assertion that school administrators improperly handled a campus housing request. The student, who was born female but is undergoing hormone treatment to become male, reports that he was treated poorly by the housing office when he requested that he not have a female roommate.
The student, who wishes to remain anonymous, lived in a single room last year and is on a waiting list for housing for the 2003-2004 school year. He is concerned that a female roommate would feel uncomfortable as the hormones change the student's appearance this fall.
