AUSTRALIA is home to many weird and wonderful creatures - more than Europe and North America put together.

It also has a vast and varied landscape to accommodate them. Wildlife Down Under was apparently three years in the making, exploring remote locations that are rarely filmed.

The commentary was a bit too matey and obvious for my liking but the photography was up to standard.

The first programme was a general introduction to what was on offer in the way of wildlife and spectacular scenery.
