KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is holding a special debate on the fate of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat at the United Nations (UN) Security Council in New York Monday, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said today.

He said the debate, coordinated by Malaysian Permanent Representative to the UN Datuk Rastam Mohamed Isa, was being held following Israel's insistence on Friday to remove Arafat as the Palestinian leader, whom they saw as an obstacle to peace in the region.
