Different ranked opponent. Same result.
For the second time in as many weeks, the Boston women's ice hockey team lost to a nationally recognized top-10 squad on the road, this time falling to No. 10 Boston College Saturday afternoon, 5-2, at Chestnut Hill's Conte Forum.
The setback comes on the heels of a 4-0 loss last Sunday against No. 2 University of New Hampshire, and drops the Terriers (6-2-0, 2-2-0 Hockey East) back to .500 in conference play following a six-game winning streak to open the season.
In contrast, the victory capped off an impressive weekend for BC (7-1-1, 4-1-0 HE), which handed UNH its first loss of the season Thursday night, 7-2. The win over the Wildcats, coupled with Saturday's victory, should guarantee the Eagles a promotion from the No. 10 spot they have maintained all season.
Coming off the emotional win over New Hampshire, the BC skaters were noticeably flat and undisciplined in the first period, yielding three power-play chances to the Terriers. BU responded by pelting Eagles goaltender Molly Schaus with 14 shots on goal.
