ThermaCare Therapeutic HeatWrapsby Procter & Gamble promise to deliver heat where you hurt. Lower-back pain? Strap a ThermaCareback wrap around your waist while you drive. Shoulder trouble? Stick on a neck-to-arm patch. Menstrual cramps? Place a wrap over your abdomen.

Fifteen staff members tested the wraps. Reviews were mixed.

The wraps and patches are convenient enough in that they don't keep you tethered to an electrical outlet; nor do they require frequent reheating in a microwave oven.
