The Czech Republic is to obtain several hundreds of millions of CEK as a bonus for the over 1 mil tonnes of emission gases it will save within the rules of the Kyoto Protocol. In 2003 the country is discharging 25% less carbon dioxide compared to 1990. At the same time it is the first country in the reform region to have signed an agreement on the purchase of unused emission quotas with a special fund of the World Bank. The Czech Republic is one of the EU candidate countries that will join the EU's emission reduction programme after their accession. …
