Planning, building, and running an identity infrastructure have now become mainstream activities for most IT organisations (ITOs), for both external extranet and internal enterprise-driven needs.
An identity infrastructure brings together hardware and software components needed to deliver authentication services for applications. It usually consists of an enterprise directory, an access management server, and delegated administration services.
Meta's research predicts frenzied activity in this area in the next several years.
