TAIPEI, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - Following the impact of two major events in the international community in the first half of this year, the government has being working on a new public works project worth billions of dollars to help maintain Taiwan's economic growth in the coming years, according to a report by the Executive Yuan.
The administration has earmarked NT$500 billion (about US$14.5 billion) for public construction projects over the next five years to help secure the country's economic growth, including aiming for a 3.06 per cent economic growth rate for this year, Premier Yu Shyi-kun stressed in the administrative report submitted to the Legislative Yuan.
The report is about the agenda of all government agencies in the first half of this year, with issues surrounding the country's economic development being the focal point.
