KOLKATA, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - Trade between India and China, as per Chinese statistics, for the period January to December 2002 reached US$4.94 billion, an increase of 37.50 per cent over the same period of 2001.
The statistics made available by Indian Chamber of Commerce at a workshop, 'Doing Business with China', here said while Chinese exports to India during the period increased by 40.80 per cent, Indian exports to China increased by 33.70 per cent during the period.
In 2002, exports of plastics (57 per cent), Iron and Steel (31 per cent), Organic Chemicals (67 per cent) and Minerals (14 per cent) from India registered significant increase.
