DAVID BECKHAM'S controversial audience with The Queen last November has been defended by national coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Eriksson claimed that in principle he was against dressing room secrets being brought into public, although he has no concerns about Beckham's revelations.
In the serialisation of his autobiography 'My Side', Beckham said Sir Alex Ferguson suggested that if he had not travelled to Buckingham Palace he would have regained fitness sooner. The player disagrees and Eriksson has said he could not see how Beckham was in a position to turn down the invitation.
