QUESTION: My partner and I (both over 40) would like to get married abroad in September 2004 and are not sure where to go. The Caribbean seems to have its storms at this time, and we do not want to go further east than the eastern fringes of the Mediterranean.

We have a budget of GBP3,000 and would like 14 nights away with the ceremony either on or near a beach or in a church or chapel. Please can you suggest anywhere? ANSWER: September is reckoned to be the most likely month for hurricanes in the Caribbean, but in recent years, hurricanes have happened from July to November. If you choose Barbados, which sits outside the usual hurricane zone, you shouldn't have problems.
