THE DEPARTMENT of Environment and Natural Resources has allowed Altai Mining Corp. to resume its mining exploration activities in Negros Oriental, which will involve P26 million in new investment.
The DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau said Altai Mining, through project exploration contractor Crew Minerals Philippines Inc., could now resume its exploration activities in the towns of Tanjay, Amlan, Pamplona and Sibulan, Negros, Oriental for possible sulfur deposits.
Altai Mining is under an Option Agreement with Crew Minerals, a Canadian firm. This means Crew Mining can go into mining production if the project site would prove to have significant mine reserves.
