CEBU City-Former flyweight champion Z "The Dream" Gorres and RP No. 3 superfly Sherwin "Super Assassin" Paro both stopped their respective foes in the third round of the "Explosion at the Mall" card Saturday night here at the Gaisano Countrymall.
Gorres, who is aching for a rematch with conqueror Edgar Rodrigo, counterpunched beautifully before unleashing a left straight to Rommel Libradilla's kisser that ended the 10-round fight with a minute and 17 seconds gone in the third.
Paro also wasted little time, literally turning Jun Pader into a punching bag before putting his outclassed rival away with a left to the belly in 2:44 of the third.
Paro raised his unbeaten streak to 12 victories with 8 KOs and earned a crack at the RP superfly title held by Ramie Laput of Davao either in late October or early November.
"If he beats Laput, I'll bring him to Freddie Roach's Gym in Los Angeles," said his ecstatic manager Marty Elorde, who flew in from Manila to watch his prized ward.
