(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
SORSOGON CITY-Agrarian Reform Secretary Roberto Pagdanganan urged farmers and other sectors of the society to ask the Supreme Court to resolve quickly the issue of Marcos' ill-gotten wealth.
Pagdanganan said most of the DAR projects rely on the release of the P38 billion Marcos' ill-gotten wealth recovered by the Philippine Commission on Good Government.
"We'll do what we can with the budget at hand, (but) we can't do much without the P38-billion ill-gotten wealth," Pagdanganan said.
The DAR chief attended on Wednesday the launching of Castilla, Casiguran and Sorsogon City as Kalahi Agrarian Reform (KAR) Zones.
Pagdanganan said DAR hopes to use its P28 or P30-billion share by October and asked the listeners "let's help each other."
Pagdanganan also presided over the oathtaking of the members of the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee, which will serve as a watchdog against the possible misuse of the DAR share.
