GENERAL SANTOS CITY-Police detained a suspected bomber on Thursday but the arrest was made public only yesterday.

But Senior Supt. Jorge Aquisap, city police director, refused to identify the suspect saying they were still conducting follow-up operations.

In the past, suspected terrorists had plotted their operations in the city. The plot was uncovered when authorities seized a large cache of explosives in a village here last year.

The explosives were traced to Indonesian bomber Fathur Rohman al-Ghozi, one of the main suspects in the Rizal Day bombing in Manila.

But relatives of Ustadz Abdul Rajis Jolka, a resident of Aleosan, North Cotabato, told reporters that police arrested him on bomb charges.

The relatives claimed that Jolka is an ordinary fish trader who went to the city's fish port to buy stocks.
