Usually light-heavyweight boxing champions aim to win the world heavyweight title.

But the 34-year-old World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion, Roy Jones Jr, plans to come down a weight and regain the light-heavyweight world title.

The HBO-televised fight will be held on November 8 in Bangkok as part of the celebrations for His Majesty the King's 75th birthday.

Jones will meet a formidable opponent in the World Boxing Council's (WBC) light-heavyweight champion, fellow American Antonio Tarver.

The world title fight will be one of the biggest sports events ever held in the Kingdom and will be relayed to all parts of the world.
