Sao Paulo, Aug. 28 (Jiji Press)--Brazil's senior trade official Marcio Fortes de Almeida said Thursday that the country may export 500,000 kiloliters of alcohol to Japan for use as fuel in the near future.

De Almeida, executive secretary of the Development, Industry and Trade Ministry, made the remark in a seminar here, following the Japanese government's recent decision to lift a ban on sales of gasoline containing alcohol.
