Shanghai, 26 August: (Ta Kung Pao) - Shanghai will devote great efforts to establish itself as a "media city" by developing the media as its pillar industry in the next 10 years in an attempt to reinforce the consolidated competitive strength of the municipality.

Fu Aimin, director of the Office of Science, Education, and Culture under the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee's Research Institute, today revealed that in order to achieve this goal, Shanghai will push forward innovations in five aspects, namely, institutional system, media technology, media production, media circulation and media industry …
