Why do some black administrators in predominantly white schools succeed, while others do not?
To answer this question, in 2001 I conducted a study on the influence of extrinsic and intrinsic factors that impact the successes and barriers to success for non-faculty African American women administrators at four-year predominately white institutions (PWIs) of higher education.
