Beijing, 26 August: Wu Bangguo, Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CCP [Chinese Communist Party] Central Committee and chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met with all the members of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Basic Law Committee of the NPC Standing Committee at the Great Hall of the People on 26 August. In his speech, Wu Bangguo fully affirmed the highly effective work done by the First Hong Kong Basic Law Committee in the past five years, and set forward his expectations on the work of the new Hong Kong Basic Law Committee. …
