NEW DELHI: Viagra, which treats erectile dysfunction, has a potent rival now in the US with the country's Food and Drug Administration approving a similar drug - Levitra.
Levitra, manufactured by Bayer Corporation in Germany and distributed by Glaxo Smith Kline, in clinical studies improved quality of erections and demonstrated rapid and reliable response.
The FDA which has approved Levitra (vardenafil) on Tuesday said this is the second oral product approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, the first being Viagra.
