England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is set to play Phil Neville at right-back after Owen Hargreaves was ruled out of England's friendly with Croatia in Ipswich on Wednesday.

The versatile 22-year-old had looked set to fill the position but he will not recover in time from a groin strain picked up playing for Bayern Munich at the weekend.

"Owen Hargreaves, Sol Campbell and Jonathan Woodgate were all assessed by the England medical staff after arriving here in Essex earlier today," FA Head of Media Relations, Adrian Bevington, told the FA's official website Monday.
