Women have recently piled into the Democratic Party in disproportionate numbers, while men have tended to vote for and join the Republican Party.
Quite apart from this demonstrated inclination of the sexes to separate by party, our data also show behavioral differences between male Democrats and male Republicans. In an amazing 14 of the 15 categories we tested--from jocks to computer whizzes to Eagle Scouts to soldiers--there were more Republican than Democratic congressmen with solid male credentials (usually lots more). In the remaining category--firefighters/policemen--GOP and Democratic members of Congress were tied.
Moreover, Democrats were twice as likely to tell us that they had not pulled off a single one of the manly achievements on our list.
