Asuncion, 15 August: ROC [Republic of China] Vice-President Annette Lu urged the mainland Chinese leadership Friday [15 August] not to reject Taiwan and instead to pay more heed to Taiwan's cause.

Lu made the call while attending a dinner in Asuncion, Paraguay, given by the members of the local Chinese community in her honour.

Noting that she originally planned to visit Boeing Co. during her upcoming transit stop in Seattle on her way back to Taiwan, Lu said that to the best of her knowledge mainland China has pressured Boeing to refuse her visit.
