We're now second in EU league of boozers.

IRISH people have the second highest consumption of alcohol in the EU and our drinkingrates are continuing to rise, figures to be published by the Department of Health today show.
The snapshot statistics also show that Ireland holds joint fifth place for the number of regular smokers over the age of 15 years, just behind Greece, France, Spain and Portugal.
Health Statistics 2002, which brings together statistical information from a wide variety ofsources on the habits and health of the Irish population, found that alcohol consumption is continuing to increase.
Ireland is now second only to Luxembourg in the EU …
