ACT NZ leader Richard Prebble launched a savage attack on former Labour colleague Sir Geoffrey Palmer yesterday, saying he was damaging his reputation by operating as a political lobbyist.

"It's a matter of great shame that a former prime minister of New Zealand seems to think that the worst aspects of Washington lobbying firms and law firms is what he wants to spend his time in," Mr Prebble said.

"No doubt he's happy with his Mercedes but I think he should be more concerned about his reputation."
