KOMDU LANGAN VEG 
(Come the Long Distance Home) 
 
   Come love, come quickly through the wildflower hinterlands, 
   Across the storm-lit hills, the whale-black desert sands. 
   The glacier torrents tumble, but cannot do you harm, 
   where I'm the quick in your thought, there also my right arm. 
 
   Come love, come surely through the rapid tides of light. 
   That sun is an old innocent, and you shine like it. 
   And should a sunbeam wake me--"It's only me," you'll smile, 
   And I'll reply, "This warming earth is yours awhile."
