Africa lacks adequate technical knowledge in the field of pharmacy, the minister of Health has said.

"There are 200 pharmacists in Uganda and that makes it one pharmacist to 120,000 people," Brig. Jim Muhwezi said while opening a regional workshop on drugs in Kampala yesterday.

"Less than 20 percent of pharmaceutical structures are occupied by technical people [in Uganda]," the minister told the inaugural workshop of the Regional Drug Forum of the Commonwealth Regional Health Community (CRHC).
