The South African beauty industry celebrated its indigenous resources and spirit of "Ubuntu" in awarding skincare house Cosmetique 2000 the Marie Claire Prix d' Excellence award for best skincare in 2003.

Cosmetique 2000 MD Marie Pretorius said: "Ubuntu, which translated means, 'I am because of you', is celebrated in the way we provide personal vision training for the beauty therapists that use and sell our Secret Room range, so that we're not just selling a product, we're selling a concept of maximising the collective strength of everyone involved."
