The Durum Triangle Music Teachers Association (DTMTA) was formed in 1990 in Langdon, North Dakota. Langdon, a rural town in the northeast part of the state, has a population of approximately 2,200. In 1990, the county was known for its large production of Durum wheat, so the local association took on the name to include teachers in the area and not just Langdon.
