Congratulations again to Tennessee MTA on its 50th Annual Conference. It was a great time of celebration and music making for all involved. Also, I was able to present a plaque to Alabama MTA recognizing its fiftieth anniversary as an MTNA affiliate. These are special times to commemorate all those who have made these organizations so meaningful to their communities. The musical life in these states has been immeasurably enriched by the work of these organizations. Furthermore, we should all be reminded of the effect we have on the people around us and not shrink from patting ourselves on the back every once and a while for a job well done!
