State affiliates recognized. (Association News).(Brief Article)
Two state MTAs recently were recognized for their years of affiliation with MTNA.
Alabama Music Teachers Association (AMTA) was honored for its fiftieth anniversary as an MTNA affiliate. AMTA affiliated with MTNA in 1953, with Esther Rennick serving as the organization's first president. There were fifty-one charter members. Roy Wylie, NCTM, MTNA Southern Division president, presented a plaque to the organization at its state convention in June.
