Plateau State House of Assembly has amended the law that provides for the constitution of Local Government Transition Committees in the state.

Consequently, the Act shall now be known as the Plateau State Local Government Tran-sition Committee Amended Law 2003. The amendment was necessitated by the indefinite postponement of local government elections.

Among other things, the amended law stipulates that the committees shall consist of a chairman, secretary, five others at least a woman among them as well as part time member each from all the wards in the local government.
