MANILA, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - The July 27 coup attempt will have very little impact on the Philippine economy, the policy-making body of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said yesterday.

In fact, the MB is optimistic that inflation will remain well within the 4-5 percent government target, BSP Governor Rafael Buenaventura said.

"While the July 27 incident affected financial markets, the impact on output and inflation is minimal. There are no broad-based pressures on consumer prices in the near term, given the moderate aggregate demand condition," ...
