Taipei, 6 May: The Committee on Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy under the cabinet's Department of Health has organized a group to study the applications of Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), committee director Lin Chung-hsin said Tuesday [6 May].

Lin said that experts of the group will coordinate with medical personnel of Western medicine to diagnose SARS patients, in addition to training doctors of Chinese medicine to facilitate their knowledge in fighting the disease.
