As much as any player in the NFL, Warren Sapp is the center of his team's universe. Everything red and pewter revolves around his global girth.

But because Sapp is in the last year of his contract and the Bucs have yet to do anything about it, there is a chance the defensive tackle will be another team's star in 2004.

Some risks are worthwhile, and allowing Sapp to play out his contract is one of them. His value to the Buts in 2003 is not the issue. His value to the team in subsequent years is.
