Kobe team coverage: It's predictable, and OK, I guess, that anyone with an FCC license gorged on the Kobe Bryant Developing Story. The district attorney filing charges, retorts released through defense lawyers, the Bryants' tearful news conference--all those loops played like video of a sausage mascot-wacking on sports, news, financial and mainstream networks, not to mention on PBS, MTV and Telemundo. Yet given the NBA/endorsement/pop-culture ramifications, and this being rerun season, it didn't seem irreponsible or exploitative.
