Cattle farmers held a sizzling demonstration outside the Japanese embassy in Canberra, barbecuing steaks and kebabs in an Aussie-style protest against higher beef tariffs in Japan.

Cattle Council President Keith Adams said the new tariffs which came into effect Friday would cost Australian farmers at least 80 million dollars (52 million US) a year in lost exports.
