BACOLOD CITY-Former President Corazon Aquino said she is seriously considering not endorsing a candidate for president in 2004 because she is involved in a "People Power, People Movement" that she will launch soon.
Endorsing a candidate might lead the public to think that she has a personal agenda because the movement that she will launch will involve at least 20 foundations and non-government organizations.
She said it would be easier for her to get the movement off the ground if she is not directly involved in the 2004 elections.
"Of course I will vote, and I hope that we will all try to see that our elections are clean and honest," the former president told the Inquirer here on Monday.
Ms Aquino said the "People Power, People Movement" will commemorate the 20th death anniversary of her martyred husband, former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, because she wants to do something more enduring than the usual annual anniversary activities.
