AS REPORTS of more unrest in the Armed Forces linger, junior police officers in Metro Manila have been asked to express their support for the government of President Macapagal-Arroyo and condemn the July 27 mutiny.
At the Western Police District, a note on the stationery of Director Pedro Bulaong that accompanies a manifesto of support for the government said, "Fax to all station chiefs for the signature of all junior officers and submit to CDDS (Chief District Directorial staff) NLT (not later than) 1200H 31 July."
Junior officers are those with ranks from Inspector to Senior Inspector.
The one-page manifesto is generally a condemnation of the takeover by renegade junior military officers of the Oakwood premier apartments.
The mutiny was deemed a "betrayal of our oath and duty to defend the republic and duly constituted authorities" and described as "politically motivated . . . aimed at destroying the present government."
