Taipei, July 31, 2003 (CENS)--Ford Lio Ho Motor Co. of Taiwan recently defeated other rivals to win a government bid to supply 618 cars for police use

Ford Lio Ho, which has won the police contract for three years running, said that the contract would add about NT$253 million (US$7.35 million at US$1:NT$34.4) to its revenue this year

Industry sources said that this year's police-use car bidding project for 618 2,000cc sedans was decided on price. In addition to Ford Lio Ho, Formosa Automobile Corp., which locally produces cars for Daewoo of South Korea, compete intensely in the bidding
