Section: Business News - In a major move to push for the development of Bangkok as a fashion hub in the region and the world, the Cabinet has approved a budget of 1,800 million baht for the "Bangkok Fashion City" project. Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, in his weekly radio address, said that he would invite people involved in the fashion industry to meet for talks on the project, so that the money to be spent on the project would be worthwhile and the country would stand to benefit most. The Prime Minister indicated that Thailand wants to avoid competition with low-cost countries and to strive to achieve a higher level of skilled labor. …
