Veteran actor Vic Vargas died on Saturday, July 19, at the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pasay City. He was 64.

The actor (real name Jose Maria Marfori Asuncion) had been in coma at the intensive care unit of the hospital after suffering a stroke early this month.

Prior to the stroke, the actor had fever a for a week. He was rushed to the hospital when he his tongue stiffened and his speech slurred. Earlier, he was also treated in a hospital in Subic for a typhoid-like ailment.
