Budapest, July 17, 2003 (MTI-ECONEWS) - Hungarian oil and gas company Mol signed a contract at a ceremony in Zagreb on Thursday, which will enable the company to purchase a 25pc plus one vote stake in the Croatian oil firm INA.
The Croatian government accepted Mol's USD 505m bid at a meeting on Thursday.
Hungarian prime minister Peter Medgyessy and Croatian prime minister Ivica Racan were present at the signing.
The other bidder, the Austrian company OMV, offered USD 420m for the stake.
