Brazilian and Spanish leaders hail bilateral ties.

[Announcer] The prime minister, Jose Maria Aznar, met his Brazilian counterpart, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, at the Moncloa Palace [prime minister's official residence] this lunchtime. After the meeting, Lula urged the Spanish government to play the important role that, in his opinion, Spain can play between the European Union and Mercosur [Common Market of the South].
