San Jose, 14 July: Today, the Costa Rican Government granted asylum to Cuban nuclear engineer Yoandi Sanchez, who said he could soon be able to go to the United States where part of his family lives.
The lack of freedom in Cuba was the decisive element for the asylum request filed three days ago, said Sanchez, who also said that "half of my family is in the United States", which is why he does not rule out moving there in the future.
The Caribbean citizen, who studied a nuclear career with an energy profile, said that if he stays in Costa Rica he could become a professor in some university.
