PARLIAMENT on Wednesday criticised Stanbic Bank's subjection of workers to compulsory HIV testing.

Teopista Ssentongo (Workers) said Stanbic Bank was violating Ugandan policy and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Code of Practice, which prohibits compulsory HIV testing for employees.

"The company originates from South Africa, where there is a law against such a practice. Why is the same employer subjecting people here to such tests?" she said.
