SYDNEY, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar was sharply stronger at noon today, with interest rate support and renewed US dollar weakness sending the local unit to its highest level in over five months.
At 1200 AEDT the domestic currency was at $US0.7746/49, about half a US cent better than yesterday's close of 0.7697 01.
This morning it reached a low of $US0.7735 and a high of 0.7757, a level not seen since mid-May this year.
RBC Capital Markets senior economist Su-Lin Ong said the currency had climbed to its morning high after the release of a strong building approvals report for September.
